Dr. Prosper Tumusiime

WHO plans for Primary Health Care and Universal Health Coverage in Africa, the role of Family Physicians.

Dr. Prosper is the Acting Director of the Health Systems and Services Cluster in the Regional Office for Africa Office for WHO, based in Brazzaville, Congo. Before this he was the Medical Officer for Health Policies and Services Delivery and Head of the Health Systems Cluster in the Inter-Country Support Team for East and Southern Africa in World Health Organization, based in Harare, Zimbabwe, covering 20 countries. Served as a District Medical Officer, Director for Rural and Urban Health Services in Ministry of local government, Assistant Commissioner in charge of planning and with AMREF in Uganda before joining the World Health Organization at the Regional Office for Africa. He has worked with Governments and partners in countries to develop heath policies and strategies to capacity build at sub-national level. His work currently focuses on improving health service delivery in the context of Universal Health Coverage.
